🥾 Hiking Challenges

Hiking challenges on GymRank are goals with a deadline and a live leaderboard — built on verified activity, not promises. Every hiking session you log moves your position, and top finishers earn XP and badges. Here's what's open right now and how the format works.

How the format works

  • Hiking challenges set distance and consistency targets over a season or a month — “100 km of trails this season”, “hike twice a week for two months” — and every verified hike advances your live position on the challenge leaderboard.
  • Elevation-rich days earn their keep: where your provider supplies elevation gain, it is stored with the activity and used by the hiking scoring model, so a mountain day is never worth the same as a flat stroll.

Earn XP while you compete

  • Verified hikes earn XP from distance and duration, inside daily caps that one 40 km mega-trek cannot break. Streak bonuses reward regular trail days, and season-long challenges stack their rewards on top.
  • Level reflects your total activity across sports; the hiking rating reflects your standing among hikers specifically. A big trail day moves both — the ladder and your athlete profile.
