1-vs-1 Fitness Competitions
The purest form of competition on GymRank: you, a rival, one sport, one week. A 1-vs-1 competition turns an ordinary training week into a match — with live progress, verified data and XP on the line. No scorekeeping, no debates: the platform reads the same verified activity that powers the leaderboards and settles it automatically.
How a 1-vs-1 works
- 1
Send the challenge
Pick your opponent, choose the sport and the metric — most verified distance, most workouts, longest total time — and set the stakes. The 7-day clock starts when they accept.
- 2
Train and verify
For one week, every verified session counts. Provider-synced activity carries the highest trust; manual entries count with standard weighting. The live progress bar shows exactly who's ahead.
- 3
Win and take the XP
When the window closes, the result is finalised automatically from verified data. Winner takes the XP prize and the win column; the rematch button is right there for the revenge tour.
Only verified activity counts
Competitions are scored exclusively from verified workouts. That is what makes an honest head-to-head possible between people who train in different places, with different devices. Suspicious patterns — impossible speeds, duplicated sessions — are flagged for review rather than trusted, protecting both sides of the match. The full story of how verification works lives on the about page.
Pick your battlefield
🏃 Distance duel
Most verified kilometres in your sport over 7 days. The classic for runners, riders and hikers.
💪 Workout war
Most verified sessions. Discipline versus discipline — nobody hides on leg day.
⏱️ Time trial
Longest total training time. Endurance athletes' favourite.
🔥 Streak face-off
Keep the daily streak alive longer than your rival. Brutal in week two.
